FABCAR was founded by Dave Klym in August 1977. Since then, it has established a worldwide reputation as a top quality prototype racing design and fabrication shop.
FABCAR is located on the northwest side of Indianapolis. It has complete in-house fabricating
facilities as well as a complete machine shop, including a CNC Milling machine
and lathe, as well as a recently purchased Haas vertical milling center.
In addition to innovative design ideas, Dave is
actively involved in the every day operations of the business. This includes
designing, fabrication and machine work.
From the smallest custom design component to the concept, design and
completion of the FDSC/03, FABCAR puts the same innovative thought, attention to
detail and pride in all of its work.
Below is a listing of information on FABCAR's Daytona Prototype, the
FDSC/03. The Daytona Prototype is a flat-bottomed, closed cockpit, mid-engine coupe with a complete frame (non-stressed engine). It uses independent suspension with adjustable shock absorbers. Each car is aerodynamically designed to be as efficient as possible in speed and downforce, using a mandated, common to all cars, rear wing.
