Steve Newey and Dave Klym founded FABCAR Motorsports, LLC to provide corporate marketing partnerships in auto racing as an alternative to traditional marketing and advertising media. Mr. Newey and Mr. Klym have established records of success in both openwheel and sports car racing.
Managing Director: Steve Newey Steve has been involved at the highest level of professional auto racing for over 20 years. Subsequent to earning his engineering degree, Steve lived in England where he was a design and race engineer in Formula One. On his return to the United States, he engineered the car driven by Bobby Rahal and the tean won the IndyCar World Series Championship in 1992. Steve assembled the Patrick Racing team that, in 1994, tested tires for Firestone in preparation for their return to the sport. Some of the other drivers that Steve has worked with include Al Unser, Jr., Adrian Fernandez, Michael Andretti, Scott Pruett, Tony Kannan, and Danny Sullivan. Steve’s teams have earned numerous championships, pole positions and race wins during his career.
Director: David Klym Dave founded FABCAR Engineering, Inc. in 1977 and has established the company as one of the premier designers and manufacturers of sports cars in the world. After manufacturing several Indy cars in the 80’s, FABCAR Engineering began a long standing relationship with Porsche Motorsport. FABCAR Engineering also built several race winning Mazda GTO cars as part of a Mazda factory effort. FABCAR Engineering designs and manufactures the FABCAR Daytona Prototype that races in the 24 Hours of Daytona and the Grand Am Road Racing Series. Four Porsche FABCAR Prototypes competed with factory Porsche drivers in the 2005 24 Hours of Daytona.
